The Reef Tour program features the world premiere of a new work – for strings, didgeridoo, slide guitar and film – written by Australian composer, Iain Grandage, in collaboration with Indigenous musician, Mark Atkins, the ACO’s Richard Tognetti, filmmakers Jon Frank and Mick Sowry, and surfing legend, Derek Hynd, during a residency at Gnaraloo.  Situated at the beginning of the world heritage Ningaloo Reef – in the Gascoyne Region of Western Australia – the land and ocean scapes of Gnaraloo will provide the inspiration for what will be an exhilarating performance piece.
The program also features great works from the classical and contemporary repertoire including George Crumb’s entrancing Black Angels.
Broome musical icon, Steve Pigram, joins Richard Tognetti and ACO2 for performances of his award winning songs arranged by Iain Grandage.
